Journeyman Lineman (non-union)
Key Responsibilities
· Installation and Maintenance: Construct, install, and maintain overhead and underground electrical transmission and distribution systems.
· Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
· Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
· Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and hydraulic lifts.
· Emergency Response: Respond to power outages and emergencies to restore service quickly and efficiently.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other linemen, engineers, and technicians to complete projects.
· Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including inventory management and service reports.
Qualifications
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as an apprentice lineman, with completion of a recognized training program.
· Skills: Proficiency in electrical systems, problem-solving, and use of specialized tools and equipment.
· Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing poles, and working in adverse weather conditions.
· Licensing/Certification: Valid journeyman lineman, CPR/First Aid and CDL driver's license.
· Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
· Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with team members and customers.
· Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
